The statue of Ramon Berenguer III, the Great

An equestrian statue by Josep Llimona inaugurated on 11th March 1950 in the square which carries his name.

He made the sketch for the statue during his advanced studies in Italy ( 1880-1885 ).

The execution of the work dates from 1922.

The statue was accompanied by controversy as the horse's tail was added in the post-war period by the official restorer Frederic Marès.
