Parc de la Ciutadella is one of the biggest, traditional parks in the city. Both the Catalan Parliament building and Barcelona Zoo are located on its grounds. Part of its charms lies in its ornamental cascade and artificial lake, and children love it. You can take a boat out onto the lake, play table tennis, or enjoy any of the other seasonal activities and events, such as dancing by the bandstand in the park. The park encourages you to stroll along its fountains, sculptures, and other interesting and attractive decorative features. It's the ideal good place for peace and tranquility and enjoying nature right in the heart of the city! At the park you will also find the Hivernacle, a winter garden with Eiffel-Tower period iron and glass architecture. There is a cafeteria inside.

The Museum of Geology and the Museum of Zoology were united in the year 2000, as the Museum of Natural Sciences. They originated from the Martorell Museum, which was founded in 1878 and was the first museum in Barcelona open to the public. All the museum collections were initially conserved at the Martorell building, but, in 1924 part of them were moved to the Castell dels Tres Dragons which, since 1906, had been occupied the city Zoology Museum.
