Barcelona City Council expresses its condemnation of the events that took place during the mass student protests.

The City Council will be presenting a report on the events that led to damage to the city's urban furniture.

The Deputy Mayor and spokesperson for the municipal government, Joaquim Forn, denounced "the violent behaviour shown by a small group of individuals towards the end of the protests... behaviour that has nothing in common with the legitimate forms of protest and expression that are the right of all citizens".

Barcelona City Council is appraising the damage caused to the city's urban furniture.

According to the provisional first estimates made by the municipal government, the following will have to be replaced: seven burnt rubbish containers, four broken rubbish containers, a burned waste bin and damaged green zone and blue zone parking ticket machines. Graffiti was also sprayed on urban furniture in various areas in the city.
